For the last two years Debi Cox has been teaching Nia classes to both men and women, encouraging students to improve their physical fitness, mental wellbeing and making them feel good inside and out.
Debi a qualified instructor of Nia said “It is amazing how you feel after a class, you can arrive feeling tired after a long week but as soon as the music starts you lose yourself in the dance and amazing music. After spending many years looking for an exercise that I enjoyed, I knew very quickly that it was different to anything I had done before.”
So, what is Nia?
The Nia Technique is a sensory, joyful blend of dance steps, martial arts techniques and healing movements. Each routine combines 52 simple moves that are danced barefoot to spirit-lifting music. The moves are all non-impact and adaptable. The classes are suitable for absolutely anyone - men, women,
young, old - and for all shapes, sizes, abilities and fitness levels.
Nia was recently featured in the Sky/Now TV series Big Little Lies in fact it was so popular that Sky was inundated with inquiries about where viewers could find their nearest class hence why the popularity has grown.
Debi already runs classes in Locks Heath Bursledon and Southsea and is about to launch her Whiteley class.
